Reception: Finding Bunny
Heads Up Kids offers age-appropriate programmes from Reception through to Year 6. Each programme builds emotional literacy, emotional regulation, positive relationships, confidence and resilience in a way that reflects the children’s stage of development.
A gentle first step into wellbeing
Created in collaboration with Sophie Says, the programme uses familiar characters, stories, songs and activities to make important emotional lessons fun and accessible.
Finding Bunny helps children talk about feelings, try again when something is difficult, and learn how empathy, kindness and sharing help us play well together. It supports children to build independence, resilience and a growing awareness of themselves and others.
By creating a safe and engaging space for conversation, the programme helps children feel more comfortable speaking about how they feel and asking an adult for help.
What schools receive
The programme includes eight structured sessions with teacher guidance, presentation slides, activity sheets and supporting resources including a scheme to embed the learning throughout the rest of the school year. The class receives the Sophie Says books used within the programme, while short parent content helps families continue the learning at home.
A teacher training webinar prepares staff to deliver the sessions confidently and use the programme’s emotional language beyond the planned activities.
